Install guide
Install Virumo on Android TV and Google TV.
Virumo is a legal IPTV player: it contains no channels. Install it by sideloading, then bring your own playlist from a provider you are entitled to use.
The first steps
Allow unknown sources for your installer app
Fetch the file from the install page
Or install over your network with adb
Install Virumo and open it
Then turn Unknown sources back off: step 5, below.
01 · Before you start
What you need.
- Android 7.1 (API 25) or later, on Android TV or Google TV.
- The Virumo file. It will be published, with its checksum, in the Download section of the install page once downloads open. Until then there is nothing to download, and any website offering a Virumo file is not us.
- Installed an earlier test build? Read the one-time uninstall note first, and back up.
02 · The steps
Install on Android TV or Google TV.
- Open Settings, then Apps, then Security & restrictions, and turn on Unknown sources for the app you will install with, such as Downloader or a file manager.
- Use that app to fetch the file from the Download section of the install page, once downloads open.
- If you are comfortable at a terminal, adb install with the downloaded file over your network does the same job. Turn USB or ADB debugging off again afterwards.
- Install, then open Virumo from the launcher's apps row.
- Turn Unknown sources back off for that app.
03 · After installing
Check the file, then add your playlist.
- Once downloads open, compare the file's checksum with the one on the install page. If it does not match, do not install it.
- Add your own playlist: the support page shows how.
- Find your way around with the remote cheat sheet.
- Other devices, and the full compatibility list, are on the install page.
