Install Virumo on Fire TV.

Virumo is a legal IPTV player: it contains no channels. Install it by sideloading, then bring your own playlist from a provider you are entitled to use.

The first steps

  1. Get Downloader from the Amazon Appstore

  2. Allow Downloader to install unknown apps

  3. Enter the address in Downloader

  4. Install Virumo and open it

Then turn the setting back off: step 5, below.

01 · Before you start

What you need.

  • Fire OS 6 or later. Fire OS 5 devices, the 2014 to 2016 sticks and boxes, cannot install it. Designed with low-memory Fire TV sticks in mind.
  • The Virumo file. It will be published, with its checksum, in the Download section of the install page once downloads open. Until then there is nothing to download, and any website offering a Virumo file is not us.
  • Installed an earlier test build? Read the one-time uninstall note first, and back up.

02 · The steps

Install on Fire TV with Downloader.

  1. Install the Downloader app from the Amazon Appstore on your Fire TV.
  2. Open Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and allow Downloader to install unknown apps. Older Fire OS versions have one switch called Apps from Unknown Sources instead.
  3. Open Downloader and enter the short address that will be published in the Download section of the install page when downloads open.
  4. Install, then open Virumo from Your Apps & Channels.
  5. Turn the setting back off. Return to Developer Options and switch the unknown-apps permission for Downloader (or Apps from Unknown Sources) off again.

03 · After installing

Check the file, then add your playlist.

  • Once downloads open, compare the file's checksum with the one on the install page. If it does not match, do not install it.
  • Add your own playlist: the support page shows how.
  • Find your way around with the remote cheat sheet.
  • Other devices, and the full compatibility list, are on the install page.
